Ethical Implications Related to the Tripartite Relationship & Defense Counsel - 2027

Discussion of the Tri-Partite Relationship and Ethical Issues that arise because of the relationship between an insurance carrier, its insured, and defense counsel retained to defend a claim against the insured, with a focus on the duty of loyalty, duty to exercise independent judgment, conflicts of interest, and duty of confidentiality.  The presentation also includes discussion of relevant disciplinary rules and ethics opinions.  The Texas State Bar course number is 174329732.  The course will be approved from 09/01/26 through 08/31/27.
