A discussion of an attorney's duty to be competent in technology, including a discussion of the relevant ABA and Texas ethics opinions on technology issues. Also includes real world examples where attorneys failed to comply with their duties of competency and confidentiality as it relates to technology and terms of service of well-known third-party providers that a lawyer needs to be aware of to ensure client confidential information is protected. The Texas State Bar course number is 174309340. It qualifies for 1.00 CLE Credit and 0.50 Ethics Credit. The course will be approved for 06/16/26 through 04/15/27.
